Pedestrians and drivers are compelled to walk or drive on one side of the road in Rivier Street, to dodge the holes filled with water.

According to a resident in the area, this has been a problem for some time. Water seems to be pouring from the underground, which then fills the existing holes with water. The resident says he has brought it to the attention of the local municipality on several occasions and the respective officials have attended to the matter, but it remains a problem.

Even after the holes have been repaired, the water starts leaking from the ground again as time passes.

The municipality was asked for comment, but no response was received at the time of the Herald going to print.
