The ANC Women’s League in the Bokone Bophirima (North-West) province would like to its express a concern on the unprocedural removal of female leaders at public serving institutions.

In a statement, Bridgette Tlhomelang, the ANCWL provincial secretary says the league has noticed a trend that has been slowly lurking amongst ranks in the organisational structure.

‘This malicious intent has set a precedence; that has given members of the ANC an unjust platform to collude with members of the opposition; to oust other members of the ANC from positions of power, particularly targeting women.

‘We noted a pattern that saw the unfair removal of the former Mayor of Kagisano- Molopo Local Municipality,  Bitsang Lenkopane and just recently the removal of the Mayor of Matlosana Local Municipality,  Maetu Kgaile,’ she said.

She added that they have raised their concerns with the provincial and national leadership of the ANC to look into this matter.

‘We hope that the ANC would act on this rampant trend. We cannot continue to condone a trend of “motion of no confidence” where party members are not reprimanded and are allowed to vote alongside with opposition parties, this must cease to exist,’ she said.
