Elderly man (69) dies in front of pharmacy

A 69-year-old man died today (6 November) at about 10:30 in front of the Mooirivier Pharmacy.

A 69-year-old man died today (6 November)  at about 10:30 in front of the Mooirivier Pharmacy.

According to WO Mpho Manyoba, the police spokesperson, the police arrived at the scene at about 11:05 and found the emergency services attending to the elderly man. ‘At 11:25, ER24 personnel declared him dead,’ she said.

All relevant personnel attended to the scene and the deceased was handed over to the pathologist, who will conduct a post-mortem to determine the exact cause of death.

Information received indicates that the man, identified as Simon Masinga (69) collapsed in the street after he had started vomiting blood. It is still not clear what the cause of death was.
