Despite a number of irregularities, we have had a relatively quiet election. There will be disputes and probably court cases, but nothing that would impact drastically on the outcome of the election in the greater Tlokwe/Ventersdorp area.

I have no doubt that, if Ventersdorp had not been part of the package, we would have seen a completely different outcome.
To a large extent, Ventersdorp rescued the ANC from losing. If not, it would have been a metro-scenario of some sort.
I am expecting the current patterns of instability to continue. The big challenge will be to deal with the debt of Ventersdorp and get proper service delivery on track. I believe a name change will be on the cards shortly. We may see more delivery protests because the total political environment is becoming more unstable.
We are now building towards the 2017 National Conference of the ANC. What if the ANC is going to have a clean-up operation in Gauteng or NMM?
This will impact on the stability of the country and will affect our region as well.
