Husband allegedly sneaks into bed and rapes his wife

A 35-year-old woman who was drowsy from medication was surprised to see her 37-year-old estranged husband in bed with her in her Promosa home at 03:00 on Sunday morning.
The complainant says the suspect moved out of the house last year and is accusing him of raping her.
Const. Kelebogile Trom, the SAPS spokesperson, says the victim’s daughter had given her her medication as usual before she went to sleep on Saturday night. She was wearing a nightdress and underwear at the time.
“In the early hours of Sunday morning, she suddenly woke up and felt someone moving next to her.
When she opened her eyes, she noticed her estranged husband under the blanket.
Her underwear had been pulled down to her knees and she realised that she had been violated.
When she asked how he had gained entry to her house, he said their daughter had opened the door for him. At that time, the husband was only wearing underwear and a shirt.
The complaint says the medication had sedated her and she was, therefore, unaware of what was going on.
Trom warned against engaging in any sexual activity without the consent of the other person, irrespective of whether or not you are married or in a romantic relationship.
