Revenge killer found, arrested

The Ikageng police have arrested the suspect who fatally stabbed 65-year-old Lucas Seane and set the family shack and RDP house on fire last Monday.

The Ikageng police have arrested the suspect who fatally stabbed 65-year-old Lucas Seane and set the family shack and RDP house on fire last Monday.
The spokesperson of the Ikageng Police, Kelebogile Trom says police arrested the 31-year-old man at the Klerksdorp taxi rank after a tip-off from an informant. He will appear in the Potchefstroom Magistrates Court next week Monday.
He is being charged with murder, arson, assault GBH, theft of a motor vehicle, hit and run and reckless and negligent driving.
The accused left eleven members of the Seane family destitute after all their belonging including clothes, school uniforms, beds, a fridge, a TV and other furniture were destroyed in the fire he started in a jealous rage.
The ex-girlfriend of the accused says,“ I am happy that the suspect was arrested, but I am scared that he may be granted bail.
He might come and finish what he has started. It will be a relief if he is locked away forever.”
Good samaritans from the Potchefstroom facebook page and other generous people have reached out to the destitute family, which currently resides with family friends and nearby neighbours. They have donated clothes for the 8-month-old baby, baby food, diapers, toiletries, plates and cups. The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) has donated groceries and blankets.
The Seane family would like to thank all these good samaritans for reaching out and assisting in the time of need.
Anyone who would like to help the family, please contact the Ikageng Police or Constable Trom on 018 295 1731/082 374 0271
