The big rugby match between HTS Potchefstroom and Potchefstroom Boys High will take place this Saturday, 7 May at HTS Potchefstroom’s rugby fields.
This Classic Clash will be one for the books and a special function was held at HTS Potchefstroom’s rugby club house to thank sponsors and prepare the players for the big clash.
Both schools thanked the sponsorship of FNB, Blue Ribbon, Printing Things and Spur for their willingness and effort in making this one of the premier event of the year.
Both headmasters, Mr. Chris de Villiers (HTS) and Mr. Johan van Vuuren (Boys High) gave their thoughts on the match and the honour of competing in such a special rugby match.
“It is an honour and privilege to once again host this Classic Clash between two great rivals. May the best team win on the day and may friendships and bonds be created on and off the field of play,” said de Villiers.
“Boys, this is a great privilege and I know that you will make most of this opportunity to enjoy rugby. It is not only about winning and losing, but about using your full potential,” expressed Van Vuuren.
