Potchefstroom-based golfer, Christiaan Burke, carded a -2 (286) across four rounds in his Sunshine Tour debut to end in a very respectable 15th place.
Burke, who is still an amateur, held his own against the professional golfers at the Blair Atholl Championship from 21 to 24 October.
The Blair Atholl Golf Course is also the longest course in Africa and the third-longest in the world.
“I received an invite to play the tournament. It was a very good experience for me and I saw that I could participate at that level. I learnt a lot from the tournament that I can certainly use going forward,” stated Burke.
Luke Brown won the championship with a score of -12.
