Audi is introducing the refreshed Q2 crossover that will officially go on sale in Mzansi from the 1st of June 2021.

On the outside, the facelifted Audi Q2 has slightly grown in terms of dimensions. It now measures 4.208 m in length while the wheelbase is 2.60 m as well as a width of 1.79 m. The height, however, remains unchanged at 1.508 m.

The front bumper now has an integrated angular diffuser insert with large pentagons on both sides while the surfaces below the headlights now have a more distinctive shape. The large implied air inlets are now pentagonal.

The octagonal Singleframe is slightly lower than before, making the front section appear wider.

Buyers can order the new Q2 in five updated colours; new Apple green, Manhattan grey, Navarra blue, arrow grey, turbo blue. The blades on the C-pillars are painted either in body colour or designed in silver, grey or black (depending on the trim line or package selected).

There are advanced and S line exterior trim lines. The base trim includes attachments in the lower area of the body that are grained black; in the Advanced line, they are painted in Manhattan grey, and in the S line, they are painted in the body colour. All lines include mirror housings in the body colour, and the front entries feature aluminium strips.

There is also an optional black styling package that adds black accents and elements.

The exterior is fitted LED headlights as standard, Matric LED headlights can be had upon request. The rear of the Advanced and S line models is fitted with LED technology. If the Matrix LED headlights are on board, the dynamic turn signal is also included.

The standard trim line rides on a set of 16-inch wheels while the Advanced trim line makes use of 17-inch wheels. The S line upgrades to 18-inch wheels.

Powering the new Q2 is a sole engine option; a 1.4-litre TFSI that carries the 35 TFSI insignia. The engine pushes out 110 kW and 250 Nm and will complete the 0-100km/h sprint in 8.8 seconds before hitting the limiter at 213 km/h. The vehicle is fitted with an 8-speed Tiptronic gearbox.

The new Audi Q2 will officially go on sale in South Africa from 1 June 2021 and is priced as follows (inclusive of all taxes) and comes standard with a five year Audi Freeway Plan.

  • Audi Q2 35 TFSI Launch Edition R519,500 (limited units available at the time of launch)
