Twelve people were left injured this morning when a taxi and light motor vehicle collided on the N12 between Potchefstroom and Klerksdorp.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 09:13 to find the taxi parked in the middle of the road. Several people were found scattered around the scene.
On closer inspection, medics found the taxi driver lying trapped inside the taxi in a critical condition. Eleven other patients had sustained minor to moderate injuries.
The patients were treated for their injuries and the critically injured taxi driver provided with advanced life support interventions before they were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
