Monday, 27 February, is the last day to submit proposals for a new name for the municipality, according to Willie Maphosa.
The process of name submissions ranges from public meetings and written submissions through to drop boxes placed in various municipal buildings and a dedicated email address, newnamenw405@tlokwe.gov.za.

Maphosa has explained the process and channels for selecting the final name for the municipality.
He says the council’s naming portfolio committee will meet early in March to sift through the suggestions and submissions it has received. The committee will then make a recommendation to council for consideration.
The name will then be published and residents will be given a period of fourteen days in which to comment.
The process of crafting the logo and the colours of the municipality will begin immediately after the announcement of the name and will be completed by the end of June.
‘Council will finalise a decision on the name, vision and mission by the middle of May and it will possibly be made public either shortly before or during the State of the City Address,’ he said.
