Motorist hijacked at gunpoint in Promosa

The Ikageng police are looking for a white Kia bakkie with the registration HFM 531 NW after a 51-year-old man was hijacked on the corner of Allen Hendricks and Bloemetjie streets in Promosa.

The Ikageng police are looking for a white Kia bakkie with the registration HFM 531 NW after a 51-year-old man was hijacked on the corner of Allen Hendricks and Bloemetjie streets in Promosa.
According to WO Ishmael Mohutsiwa, the police received a complaint of a hijacking at around 00:30 on Monday morning. On their arrival, they found the victim shaken and under the influence of alcohol.
“He said he was driving home from work when three males came towards him. One took out a firearm and or-dered him to stop. They then pulled him out of the bakkie and drove away. The victim managed to run to one of the nearby houses in Promosa Baipei and ask for help,” Mohutsiwa reported.
According to him, the police are still looking for the bakkie valued at R300 000. Anyone who has information is urged to contact Ikageng SAPS at 018 295 1731 or the head of detectives Lt Col Johan Scholtz at 082 568 62 64.
