Man stabbed to death in Dassierand informal settlement

Ikageng police have arrested three suspects in connection with the death of a foreign national from Lesotho. The victim was murdered in the informal settlement next to the Dassierand road last Sunday, 9 July.

NW police spokesperson Col. Adele Myburgh confirmed that Ikageng police are investigating a murder case. The incident was reported in the early hours of Sunday morning.

“The man (27) was found inside his yard with a stab wound to his neck,” stated Myburgh. “The man was allegedly stabbed after an argument occurred between a group of men in the early hours of Sunday morning,” added Myburgh.

She also confirmed that the three suspects (aged 23, 24, and 27), are believed to be from Lesotho. They appeared in the Potchefstroom Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 12 July.
