Dragons all-rounder gets test recall

The selectors have shown faith in Muthusamy after a couple of top seasons where he performed consistently for the Dragons.

North West Dragons all-rounder, Senuran Muthusamy, received a call up to the Proteas test squad for the first time since 2019, for the upcoming two match series against the West Indies.

Sen, as he is known to his team mates, has had a solid season putting in some good performances in the recent SA20 competition. His form though has not been the best in the 4-day format this season, but the selectors have shown faith in him after a couple of top seasons where he performed consistently for the Dragons.

His left-arm spin as well as solid middle order batting will give the Proteas good options if they would like to play an extra batsman in their series against the Windies.

Muthusamy forms part of a new look Proteas line-up under new test coach, Shukri Conrad.

Temba Bavuma will captain the team, with call ups for Ryan Rickelton, Gerald Coetzee, Wiaan Mulder and Tony de Zorzi as well.
