This year marks a special milestone as this Memorial celebrates 50 years since opening its doors on 14 May 1972.

For half a century, Samuel Broadbent House has been giving its all to put the elderly first.

The home is a proud member of the Methodist Homes for the Aged group and is also a Methodist Memorial. This year marks a special milestone as this Memorial celebrates 50 years since opening its doors on 14 May 1972.

According to Michael Sparks, manager of Samuel Broadbent House, the Methodist Homes’ mission, is to provide affordable, secure and caring accommodation and services to the elderly.

“We commit to caring for the aged by providing cost effective, excellent, and efficient services leading to optimal satisfaction. We deal with all residents, their families, members of the public, and our colleagues with dignity, sincerity, respect, transparency, and compassion,” he stated.

Sparks concluded, “At Samuel Broadbent House, we use a participative style of management where all employees individually and collectively work responsibly and unselfishly with integrity to achieve the mission and objectives of Methodist Homes.”
