The Absa Premier League match between Maritzburg United and Golden Arrows has been postponed until further notice in honour of the late Team of Choice midfielder Mondli Cele.

Cele lost his life in a car accident in the early hours of Sunday morning. Cele’s funeral will be held at Folweni Sports ground near Isipingo. The funeral arrangements were confirmed by the club on its official website.

“The club would like to take this opportunity to express our deepest condolences to the Ngwenya family and friends, for the loss of their daughter who passed away in the same accident with Mondli.

“Delisile Ngwenya worked very closely with the club, as she was assigned to serve Maritzburg United for the SABC Sekunjalo soccer programme. She worked very diligently in serving the club through the SABC. May her soul rest in peace,” read  a statement on the club’s website.
