MTN 8 Semi-final opener produces a draw

Ajax Cape Town and Bidvest Wits played to a one all draw in the first leg on their MTN 8 semi-final match.

Wits and Ajax shared possession with both teams dominating the match in patches. Toriq Losper scored the opening goal in the 11th minute of the game. Wits goalkeeper Moenneb Josephs was booked shortly there after for questioning the referee’s decision for allowing play to continue as a Wits player was fouled, a challenge that led to Wits conceding a goal.

Hendrico Botes snuck a foot in front of Aidan Jenniker to poke the ball into the net with Anssi Jaakkola out of position to make a second save. The Clever Boys and Urban Warriors were equally hard done by the officiating on the night, an argument between Roger de Sa and the assistant referee broke out at the end of the game.

Both teams take a one goal aggregate score into the second leg of the the semi-final.
