Dutch coach Ernie Brandts has applied for the job of Kaizer Chiefs coach, according to reports in Holland.

Brandts is said to have applied together with former Panathinaikos assistant coach Laurens Ebben for the vacant position at Naturena, after Stuart Baxter left the club last week.

Amakhosi chairman Kaizer Motaung did say he had received plenty of interest from overseas, with another applicant believed to be former Orlando Pirates coach Ruud Krol.

Brandts, who represented Holland as a player at the 1978 World Cup, has coached in Africa before, with APR of Rwanda and Young Africans of Tanzania.

Most recently, Brandts was appointed coach of FC Dordrecht in the Dutch Eredivisie at the start of this season, but he was sacked in February, and Dordrecht were eventually relegated.

Ebben was an assistant to another Dutch coach, Henk Ten Cate, at Panathanaikos between 2008 and 2011.
