Kaizer Chiefs team manager Bobby Motaung has denied that Chippa United striker David Zulu is joining Amakhosi in January.

The move, however, does seem likely to go ahead, with Chiefs keen to bolster their strikeforce.

Zulu’s signing is expected to be announced by Chiefs soon, though Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung declined to confirm the move.

“We will make a statement if there is any development on our side,” Motaung said.

Motaung, though, hinted that his team are interested in Zulu.

“Obviously, we looking at many players to bring to the club,” Motaung said.

Zulu has started the current PSL season with a bang, scoring four goals in the Absa Premiership so far.

His form did not go unnoticed as Bafana Bafana coach Shakes Mashaba called him for the national team’s Africa Cup of Nations 2015 qualifiers against Sudan, Nigeria and Congo-Brazzaville.

He is yet to make his international debut as Mashaba has preferred Bongani Ndulula and Tokelo Rantie.

Zulu’s departure from Chippa would open space for Edward Manqele, who just joined the Port Elizabeth-based side from Mamelodi Sundowns.
