Former SuperSport United and Kaizer Chiefs centre-back Morgan Gould will join newly promoted side Stellenbosch FC next season.

Stellenbosch coach Steve Barker confirmed that his side had signed the veteran defender after he parted ways with SuperSport United.

Gould was not offered a new contract at Matsatsantsa at the end of the 2018/2019 campaign and will now play for Stellies next season.

The former Bafana Bafana defender’s experience will help the newly promoted side in their first campaign in the top tier of the South African football.

Gould is the fifth signing made my Stellenbosch this season after they signed Boy de Jong and Dillian Solomons, Zimo Brenner and Waseem Isaacs.

“He is training with us and hopefully, by the end of the week we will have finalised his signing,” Barker told reporters.

“Morgan’s experience will help us and his kind of influence in the dressing room will be important.”
