Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune beat Denis Onyango and Richard Ofori to the award.

The Bafana Bafana goalkeeper bagged R50 000 for winning the award.

Khune wasn’t at the awards to collect the award and his father collected it for him.

With Ofori helping Maritzburg United reaching the final of the Nedbank Cup and Onyango winning the Absa Premiership, some fans felt one of the two was more deserving to win the award than Khune, while others felt he deserved the gong.
