Moment of silence for Colombia plane crash victims

At least 71 people were confirmed dead when a plane crashed in the mountains of Colombia.

The Premier Soccer League has announced that a moment of silence will be observed in honour of the Associagäo Chapecoense de Futebol following the death of their players in a plane crash.

At least 71 people were confirmed dead when a plane crashed in the mountains of Colombia. Those killed include members of the Brazilian football team.

A PSL statement read: “The Premier Soccer League (PSL) will observe a moment of silence for the players and officials of the Brazilian football club Associagäo Chapecoense de Futebol who lost their lives in a tragic plane accident while travelling to play the final of the Copa Sudamericana.

“The moment of silent will apply at all Absa Premiership, NFD and MDC matches this weekend. FIFA has also requested players around the globe to wear black armbands. The PSL joins the football family in mourning the tragic incident.”
