National First Division (NFD) side Jomo Cosmos new striker Kevin Ndayisenga is on a quest to help the team fight for promotion after scoring on his debut for Ezenkosi in their 4-1 victory over Amazulu in their last league encounter.
Following months of being sidelined due to work permit issues, Ndayisenga finally made his appearance for the team and says is he is excited about his start at the club.
“As a matter of fact, I am very excited to get off to a good start by scoring on my debut, but even more importantly, I delighted that we beat AmaZulu to claim all three points, as this would boost our chances of fighting for promotion,” the 25-year old was quoted on the club’s website.
“I think we played very well, and everyone put in their best on the day. It was a good team performance, and I hope we can sustain the tempo in subsequent matches. It’s going to be a long and hard season, but I guess we are ready for the challenge.”
The win against Usuthu saw Jomo Sono’s men move to second on the log table with 11 points, five points adrift table toppers Thana Royal Zulu after six games.
Ndayisenga will be looking to continue with his good start next weekend, when Cosmos host Cape Town All Stars at Olen Park, Potchefstroom, on Sunday.
