Keagan Dolly and Brighton Mhlongo are among the new faces in the Bafana Bafana squad for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against the Gambia in Bakau on June 4.

The Sundowns midfielder Dolly has been in superb form for his club this season, while Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Mhlongo has also excelled of late for the Buccaneers.

Also included in the squad for the Gambia game are Polokwane City striker Thobani Mncwango and Chippa United defender Diamond Thopola.

There are recalls to the Bafana squad, meanwhile, for former captain Dean Furman and midfielder May Mahlangu.

“All the players on the list were selected on merit … we look at things technically and tactically. Dean is not a new person, we know what he can do,” said Mashaba.

The Bafana coach added that no players were omitted because of injury and explained his omission of Bournemouth striker Tokelo Rantie.

“We trying to give as many players (as possible) an opportunity to show their skills,” added Mashaba.
