Pule Ekstein is said to be facing an uncertain future at Kaizer Chiefs, with talks over a new contract yet to start.

Ekstein, who is amongst the fan favourites at Naturena, will see his contract come into an end in June this year.

In May, Phakaaathi reported that Ekstein is likely to be on the list of the players being released by the club.

Now a source close to Chiefs told this website that talks over a new contract were put on hold after the 28-year-old wanted an improved contract.

“The club does not believe that he is worthy of the amount of money that he is demanding. He has been with the club for many years, but is yet to live up to expectations. If he was a regular in the team, then it would be understandable that he wants more, but he is not,” said the source.
