Despite dropping two points against the Urban Warriors, Mosimane was satisfied with the way his side performed and feels they did everything they could to win as they were forced to settle for the 2-2 draw in Cape Town.

“We went there to win,” Mosimane said. “We didn’t go there to defend. We played positive football and we wanted to win.

“Ajax were stubborn, they never let us win.

“They caught us on breaks because we were not there to sit back and get the point, and I think we could have done it.”

Desperate for full points, Mosimane brought four strikers Katlego Mashego, Richard Henyekane, Katlego Mphela and Cuthbert Malajila on in the second half to grind out the win. Downs hit the post twice.

Mosimane’s men host Bidvest Wits at Lotus Versfeld on Saturday, both sides undefeated in the league, and will look to return to winning ways.
