Baxter has guided Amakhosi to four titles in those three seasons, having won the Nedbank Cup in his first season and the MTN8 at the start of this campaign.

“I must praise Stuart for keeping me on my toes. There has been good competition between me and Stuart.

“There is no bad blood, never media utterances. He is a gentleman and I treat him like a gentleman. He treats me like a gentleman. He understands competition. We are professionals.

“He is a qualified top coach who has coached national teams and in England. I need to acknowledge his education, his background and his CV.

“ I don’t have a CV like him but he knows that I will always give him a run for his money. Next year we go again.”
