SuperSport United striker Jeremy Brockie has confirmed that Thabo Matlaba has apologised for his horrific tackle that saw the Orlando Pirates defender get his marching orders.
The incident happened during last Saturday’s Telkom Knockout semifinal between Matsatsantsa a Pitori and Bucs at Mbombela Stadium.
SuperSport won the match 1-0, courtesy of a Thabo Mnyamane’s first-half goal.
Pirates finished the game with 10 men after a visibly frustrated Matlaba went for Brockie’s ankle and received a straight red card for his troubles.
Now Brockie has confirmed on his Twitter account that Matlaba has apologised for his bad tackle.
“A big thank you to @ThaboMatlaba8 who has just called me and then messaged me also to apologise for the weekend! Really appreciated mate!!
“I admire @ThaboMatlaba8 as a player and I’ve been in his position before and it’s not a nice feeling. Really appreciate it and all the best,” Brockie tweeted.
