Former learner now ploughing back as school’s principal

If there were one message Puleng Moloi has for the 943 Grade R to Grade 7 learners of the Mokwallo Public School, it would be that everyone can do it! Not only did she start her school career at the same school of which she now is the principal, but it took her almost 28 years to achieve what she had dreamt of.

She first started teaching at the school as a Gr. 1 teacher in 1992. Six years later, the Department of Education appointed her as the head of department for the Foundation Phase at Mokwallo Public School. It then took another 10 years for her to be appointed as the deputy principal of the school. In February 2020, she was appointed as the acting principal when Mrs Motumi, the then principal, retired. She now finally holds the chair as the third woman principal of the school. In the words of Ryan D’souza – if you want to succeed, don’t doubt your dreams. As a mother of four boys, she knows how to lead by example and truly inspires not only her children but all the children of Mokwallo Public School.
