Women taking lead in property market

This would follow recent trends across the country, which has seen a rise in the activity shown by single women in terms of the overall amount of property purchases. This comes from reliable and trusted data from Lightstone, who are experts in the automotive and property industries.
The data revealed that since 2016, there has been a major increase in the amount of properties bought by single women, and they have now made their way to the top of the pile, beating the likes of married couples and single males in the market.
Assessing the data was Lightstone Lead Analyst, Cindy Bezuidenhout, who feels that women are now starting to enjoy more power in the economy, and this is reflecting in the property market.
This insight was also done looking at the major provinces in South Africa, and Gauteng showed the most significant increase in women buyers when compared to single males and couples. They were also the dominant force in the Eastern Cape although the gap was not as large as it was in Gauteng.
Moving into KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape, single women followed married couples in terms of the amount of properties purchased, and had overtaken single males in the market.
Although a major indication of change happening, there was still signs of inequality in terms of earning, as this was reflected in the average sales price. The data showcased that although women were very active in the market, they fell to the bottom of the list in terms of average price.
