Paramedics arrived at the scene and found the house to be engulfed in flames, reports indicated that the owners were away on holiday. Upon investigation, it was found that three dogs were trapped behind the back of the house in an area that had been logged in smoke.

One of the ambulance crew members jumped over a fence and managed to bring the dogs to safety, two were put into the back of a police van for safekeeping but the basset hound exhibited symptoms of smoke inhalation.

Paramedics took the dog and gave him some oxygen therapy  and soon his tail started wagging again, the dog was later left with its house sitters.
