Appreciation for the noble work of nursing staff at Parys Hospital

We salute you for your determination to fulfil your occupation and go beyond your scope of chores!

On 29 June 2022 a tiny, abandoned baby girl was rushed to hospital, severely hydrated due to malnutrition and neglect. The baby needed emergency medical treatment and after the doctor examined her, an intra-venous feeding tube had to be administered.
How do you get a vein on such a petite body? Three nurses tried, for what seems to be an eternity, to get a suitable vein. With persistence and despite the baby crying pitifully, they later successfully administered the drip.
The baby was then admitted at the General ward and immediately staff fall in love with her. They took turns to change nappies, bottle feed, wash and care for her. The baby was showered with affection, clothing, booties, expensive feeding bottles etc. The baby was even placed in hiding at the maternity ward when another patient thought it was her child!
This little fighter has now gained weight and is in much better health than before. Thanks to the dietician, other professionals and staff who helped her on her way to recovery. Your efficiency, dedication (and spoiling) are much appreciated.
Although this little girl perhaps won’t remember this ordeal we want to assure you that you were the stepping stones to give her a chance to a healthier life.
We salute you for your determination to fulfil your occupation and go beyond your scope of chores!
