‘We are dedicated to ensure that every voice is heard’

The participation of local voices is crucial in shaping a responsive and inclusive government approach, ensuring that the unique needs of Parys and the district at large are prioritised

In an effort to enhance the alignment of government services with the specific needs of residents, Free State premier MaQueen Letsoha Mathae accompanied by the MEC of CogTA and Human Settlements, visited Parys for a Social Compact Imbizo last week
Friday. Together with Ngwathe’s Executive Mayor Councillor Victoria De Beer Mthombeni they engaged with the community of
Tumahole.

The premier said in the district, where local challenges and opportunities intersect, this initiative aims to bring together civil society
organisations, key stakeholders, and community members, with meaningful dialogue and collective action to address pressing issues. She added that the intention of the programme, as was announced in the opening of the Free State Legislature, is to outline the coordinated Government Programme of Action (POA) moving forward and to solicit input from identified civil society
organisations, partners, formations, and stakeholders critical to government business and the community at large.

importance of this initiative, stating: “The Social Compact Imbizo is not just an event, it is a commitment to listen to our communities and work together towards sustainable solutions. We recognise the strength that comes from collaboration, and we are dedicated to ensuring that every
voice is heard.”
