Renewable Energy and Wind Farm to contribute towards local economic development

According to the municipal manager, these projects are aimed at positioning the municipality as a key player in the broader economic development trajectory in the Fezile Dabi District.

The newly appointed municipal manager of the Ngwathe Local Municipality, Dr Futhuli Patrick Mothamaha and senior officials of the municipality, met with officials of the project teams of a Renewable Energy and Wind Farm Project on Tuesday.

According to the municipal manager, these projects are aimed at positioning the municipality as a key player in the broader economic development trajectory in the Fezile Dabi District. He added that these projects will contribute towards job opportunities.

The wind farm is to be constructed in the Edenville area, while the Renewable Energy project is aimed at establishing a solar energy station for electric vehicles.

Ngwathe’s senior management met with officials of the project teams in Parys on Tuesday.

“The municipal task team led by Dr Mothamaha will now have further meetings and do the necessary consultations for implementation of these projects,” said Ngwathe’s manager for communication, Steve Naale.
