Citation award honour for Rotary Parys

This is the most significant award a Rotary club can achieve

Rotary Parys has earned the prestigeous Rotary Citation for 2023-2024 – the most significant award a Rotary club can achieve.
In his comment, Rotary International President, Gordon McInally, said Rotary Parys demonstrated a commitment to achieve its goals, which ultimately helps strengthen Rotary and shape our future.

Goals that are taken into account for a Citation inludes club membership, developing service projects, giving to the Rotary Foundation and building awaress of Rotary in a community.

Rotary Parys has grown from a club that was virtually defunct to 20 members and three friends of Rotary. This represent a 100 percent growth for the past year, says Club President Sandra Uys.

The remarkable success achieved by the Club has also been seen in numerous community projects including the very popular Crater Street Mile that will attract athletes and tourist alike to the Free State town of Parys on the 12th of October.
Make sure to also make a note of the family health day on September 7, which is again presented this year by Rotary Parys in collaboration with various role players at the Reformed Church’s Mini Market.

Besides the mobile blood donation clinic there will be the following: Body Lab exercises, the team from Kragapie Gym will be there, CPR demonstrations, blood pressure and sugar tests by The Local Choice Pharmacy, eye tests by Specsavers, raising awareness of epilepsy through Epilepsy SA, Angels who will be doing stroke awareness and introducing their special program for children to the community, awareness of the mental health app, and a visit from the chief executive officer and senior staff of Parys District Hospital to introduce themselves to the public. A mobile dental clinic will be on site on the day.
