Orchestra magic in Vredefort this Friday

Local instrumentalists have been practising since May for the event and are very excited to be part of this initiative to play with the orchestra.

Just imagine yourself listening to a symphony orchestra playing in the tiny town of Vredefort! Don’t miss the event on 28 June at 17:30 at the NG Vredefort when the FAK Youth Symphonic Orchestra brings an exciting and enjoyable programme to Vredefort.

Apart from a “community item”, to be played with local instrumentalists, they will play I. Albéniz, Asturias; J. Haydn, Symphony no. 83 in G minor; P. Schickele, Eine kleine nichtmusik, based on W.A. Mozart’s Eine kleine nachtmusik; G. Bizet, L’Arlésienne; J. Hurwitz, La La Land; W.A. Mozart, The sleigh ride – German dance; H. Alfven, Swedish Rhapsody (Midsummer vigil) and A. Vivaldi, Gloria in Excelsis Deo.

Local instrumentalists have been practising since May for the event and are very excited to be part of this initiative to play with the orchestra. This is indeed a life changing experience for most of them. Bring along the kids and experience this outstanding music performance.

Hloni Mokoena, a former learner of Parys High School and final year student at the Northwest University of Potchefstroom where he is studying a BA degree with Music. He frequently plays in Europe together with the Manguang’s String Orchestra, and will be playing together with the FAK Youth Symphonic Orhestra in Vredefort.
Ethan Kruger, Ané Gouws, Gabriella Steenkamp, Vi’en Lurrie and Rossouw Muller are among the loal instrumentalists who will be playing with the FAK Youth Symphonic Orchestra.
