United in prayer for SA election

The prayer circle will continue after the election.

Heads bowed in prayer before Parys’ town hall on Sunday as 30 people from all communities united in prayer for South Africa and this
week’s national and provincial elections.

People offered spontaneous prayers that there would be no bullying, anarchy, intimidation,
manipulation, bribing or corruption, fraud, chaos, forced voting or network sabotage.

They prayed for the counting process, logistics and road access so there would be no disruption, for the police, the elderly, those working behind the scenes with operational matters, the entire voting process, the media’s reporting, and for a righteous government.

The weekly prayer circle forms part of the Time2Rise movement that started in 2023 with 300 men. It has grown to over 22,000 people following the movement’s Facebook page, praying for South Africa.

In his message on Sunday, Hendri Slabbert said: “There is much we can say about South Africa and everything wrong, but do we realise what a great protection we still
have, because the hand of God is still over South Africa in a mighty  way,” He started the prayer circle, asking for a focus on thankfulness.

“Building a nation starts at our houses first. With my family, with my people. May this
resonate with all our hearts and minds. It starts with my children, my next generation.,
building in their lives,” concluded Barend Groenewald.

The prayer circle will continue after the election. It meets at the town hall at 16:00
every Sunday. All are welcome. Vredefort residents gather at the fountain circle at 17:00 on Sundays
