Suffer from addiction: SANCA can assist

Persons who stay in a support program has about 90% better chance to maintain sobriety.

The South African National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependency (SANCA) is providing treatment at 32 treatment centres across South Africa. SANCA provides a diverse range of solutions aimed at supporting individuals, families, communities, schools, and corporations in the treatment and prevention of substance dependency.

Individuals and families who have experienced or observed others struggle with addiction will understand its destructive societal consequence, as well as how critical it is of seeking professional assistance throughout the process. We give hope, we make people believe in themselves and find their potential, and we reconnect people after they have been disconnected from society. Our passion is to see healthy and happy people in families and in our communities.

Substance use disorders destroys the image of a healthy society and it is linked to many other social problems. Therefor communities have to stand together in combatting this social ill.

SANCA assists people in developing skills to gain control over their substance use disorders that is a chronic disease. We help them to believe in themselves and find their potential, and reconnect people after they have been disconnected from society. A person and his family deserve support and professional intervention because recovery is a complicated process, as in the case of any other chronic disease. Recovery is a process.

We want to encourage people suffering from a dependency of a substance to take the first step to start the journey to recovery in seeking help.

SANCA can also assist with aftercare once a person has completed inpatient treatment elsewhere.

It is extremely important to support a person during the recovery process.

Drugs mostly abused in our region are alcohol, dagga, crystal meth and heroine.
