Medical specialist centre in Parys now open

As of July this year, a new centre for medical specialists has been set up at 9 Buiten Street, Parys. Entrepreneur Mr Mohammed Kajee from MTN Parys took the initiative to set up this centre in the interests of the community. Seeing a medical specialist in Parys has, until now, proved to be quite challenging.

Most medical specialists are in the bigger cities or closer to the tertiary hospitals and busy private clinics. Parys has almost no specialists and patients requiring them, often have to travel far and wide to get a consultation. Mohammed noticed this gap in Parys and decided to start a specialist centre where various specialists such as a general surgeon, orthopaedic surgeon, specialist physician, urologist, ear nose and throat specialist, gynaecologist, paediatrician and more will come to the Parys community on a bi-weekly or monthly basis. Attempts are being made to also get a rheumatologist, of which there is a shortage nationwide.

This centre is welcoming news for the Parys community and all Parys medical practitioners.

Mohammed, who was guided by Dr Tickley in this venture, is applauded for providing this much-needed service in Parys.
It is hoped that all medical practitio- ners in and around Parys will support the centre by referring their patients when needed.
