Eskom loses supply to Vierfontein and surrounding rural customers

FRIDAY, 21 OCTOBER 2022: A faulty NEC transformer at Vierfontein Substation in the Free State has led to a loss of supply to Vierfontein and surrounding rural customers.

Supply to customers feeding from the Vierfontein Rural-Groenebloem, Vierfontein Rural-Viljoenskroon and Vierfontein Rural-Orkney lines have been restored through back-feeding.

Customers feeding from the Vierfontein-Wawielpark and Vierfontein-Vierfontein lines, should be restored by 20h00 this evening.  Vierfontein-Vierfontein is the line supplying electricity to the town of Vierfontein.

We apologise for the inconvenience and assure customers that repairs are being attended to with the required urgency.

Electricity users are urged to treat all electrical lines, sockets, and appliances as live and dangerous.
