Why not enter your sidewalk and win

We are looking for the most beautiful sidewalk in Parys. The competition is open to everyone – whether you live in a mansion or shack – this is about the most beautiful sidewalk in Parys. You may also nominate a beautiful sidewalk or a municipal area that a resident maintains and beautifies. You may want to nominate your neighbour’s sidewalk or business premises. To enter, simply send a clear photo of the sidewalk via WhatsApp, with your name, surname and street address, to 083 258 3586. Entries for March 2022 will close on 21 March. The prizes and trophy will be handed to the winner on the day the winner has been announced. Each month’s winner will be announced on the last Friday of the month. If you are not this month’s winner, your sidewalk will automatically be entered into the April competition.

The winner receives:

* One night’s stay at River Rock Lodge

* A game drive for up to 10 people from Savannah Africa

* A Spa voucher from Stepping Stones Spa

* A beautiful plant from Misty’s Garden Select

* A gift from With Heart Creations

Besides these prizes, the winner also receives the floating trophy from the executive mayor of the Ngwathe Municipality, Cllr Victoria de Beer.

What defines a “Beautiful Sidewalk?

A sidewalk/pavement area is any area on the outside of your fence, be it a residential property fence or a business property fence, whether in the CBD of a town, residential area or informal settlements/townships that forms part of a town’s jurisdiction.

What makes a sidewalk beautiful?

* A clean, well-maintained area, whether the sidewalk is covered with grass, paving, sand or crushed stone – it has to be clean

* Simplicity – even the plainest-looking clean sidewalk attracts the eye.

* Clean, weed-free water canals (very applicable in Parys)

* Healthy-looking focal plants or something as simple as wildflowers (definitely not required to participate in this competition). So, come on – why not enter your sidewalk and stand a chance to win these fantastic prizes.

Here are the entries received so far. You are welcome to comment and tell us which sidewalk is your favourite. If you still want to enter – remember the competition closes on Monday 21 March.
