Meals on Wheels is distributing 7,233 food parcels to those in need between August and November, on behalf of the Department of Social Development. Of this, 4,061 parcels had been delivered in 13 towns by last Friday, covering a distance of 8,308 kilometres.
The Meals on Wheels team was in Vredefort last Friday and handed out food parcels to another 200 beneficiaries identified by the Department of Social Development. The team previously visited the town on 21 September when 210 other beneficiaries received this much-needed help, said the team-leader Kgosi Kitsa and Team of Hope members. The team visited Koppies on Saturday and distributed 200 parcels.
