Rise & Shine Community Foundation alleviates poverty

On 20 October, the Rise & Shine Community Foundation donated groceries to His House Community Development Centre in Schonkenville. This centre feeds over 200 people from Schonkenville every Thursday. After the centre requested help from the Rise & Shine Community Foundation, the Foundation responded with the grocery donation which will be used to prepare meals for the soup kitchen programme at the centre. Mrs Vos, the secretary of the centre, thanked the Rise & Shine Community Foundation for their helping hand, adding that the centre depends on donations from different stakeholders. According to the Foundation’s chairperson, Mr Fani Tekane, the Foundation’s mission is to alleviate poverty in our communities at all costs so that no person should go to bed with an empty stomach.
