Relebohile Clinic among top performing health facilities in the FS

The National Department of Health’s Reward and Recognition Programme has ranked Relebohile Clinic in Vredefort among the top 10 performing health facilities in the Free State. The programme aims to create a healthy dose of competition among health facilities in South Africa. Not only does it seek to improve health facility performance, but also entrench HIV service delivery. A quarterly score is calculated using the composite indicator, which was created to ensure that each facility, irrespective of size, has an equal opportunity to be recognised and rewarded.

The composite score indicator uses five standard HIV programme indicators, including:

 HIV positivity rate  Linkage rate of HIV positive clients to treatment,

 Growth in total remaining on ART (Troa)

 Viral load done rate (VLD)  Viral load suppressed rate (VLS).

The top ten performing facilities in each province over a full financial year will be rewarded with a monetary voucher. The voucher will be used to purchase items for the facility.

The top ten performing facilities in the province were:

1. Matsieng Clinic

2. Eva Mota Clinic

3. Seeisoville Clinic

4. Phetogo Clinic

5. Mafube Hospital

6. Frankfort Clinic

7. Winnie Mandela (Rouxville) Clinic

8. Relebohile (Vredefort) Clinic

9. Thaba Phatswa Clinic

10. Dinaane Clinic.
