Thank you for 60 units!

Thank you  for saving lives

The South African National Blood Services (SANBS) celebrates June as National Blood Donor Month, with a special focus on honouring the dedicated donors who heed the humanitarian call to donate blood, while inspiring others to do the same. In commemoration of National Blood Donor Month and in celebration of Youth Month, a special Jimmy Jaggers Youth Blood Drive was held on Wednesday 16 June 2021, where 60 units of blood were collected which can save hundreds of lives. SANBS would like to thank and acknowledge all regular and new blood donors, youth and the Parys community for supporting the event. A special word of thanks and acknowledgement to Jimmy Jaggers for their continued support and commitment to saving lives.

The community of Parys is invited to donate blood in Parys, Thursday 24 June at the Reformed Church Hall, corner of Loop and Paulsen Street,  from 12:00 – 18:00. Every blood donor will receive a gift of appreciation. To become a blood donor, you must:

  • Weigh 50kg or more
  • Be in good health
  • Lead a sexually safe lifestyle
  • Consider your blood safe for transfusion to a patient
  • Commit to donating blood regularly
