An increase in the number of officials who have tested positive for Covid-19, is the reason why the JB Marks Municipality’s licencing section in Potchefstroom has been closed for a period of 10 days. The total number of officials who have tested positive stands now on 3.

According to a public notice issued on 25 July, the decision to close the licencing section in Potchefstroom was taken as an attempt to ensure that all officials of the Drivers Licencing Testing Centre Registration Authority and Vehicle Testing Station will self-isolate and recuperate within the period.

The Drivers Licencing Testing Centre will re-open on 3 August.

Currently driving test appointments can also not be made in Parys or Koppies.

Once appointments can be made again, you have to take along a certified copy of your ID, proof of address, 2 ID photos, your learners licence and the correct amount of money.
