In contact with someone who has tested positive – what now?

If you have come into contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid-19, you may receive an SMS alerting you of this. By following the instructions on the SMS, contacts can do a simple screening for Covid-19 and will get advice on whether they should self-isolate or go for a test.

When tested for Covid-19, what should you do?
Make sure you give your correct date of birth, address and cell phone number when testing for Covid-19.
By giving the correct cell phone number, you can use CovidConnect to receive your test results directly on your cell phone.

If you have tested positive, you can anonymously alert people you have come into contact with and monitor your symptoms. You will receive an SMS once the result of your test is ready.

The new recommended isolation period is now 10 days, but remember that the isolation period should only be reduced from 14 days to 10 days if the patient does not have a fever and the symptoms have begun to improve.

Asymptomatic patients should isolate for 10 days after the initial positive test.

In case of mild disease, isolate for 10 days after the onset of symptoms.

In case of severe disease, isolate for 10 days after clinical stability has been achieved.
