The taxis are taking part in a strike all over Gauteng by the South African National Taxi Council’s (Santaco).

Most of the roads in this area are currently blocked by taxis.

Motorists have however reported on social media that they can pass on the part of the R501 past Doornfontein. This road is, however dangerous because of a sinkhole next to it. Members of the police in Khutsong also ensure that vehicles are allowed to pass at the crossing next to the Khutsong Police Station.

Some roads in other areas such as the R24 between Rustenburg and Krugersdorp are also blocked.
