Kokosi schoolboy’s cause of death determined

Residents of Kokosi started protesting outside Kokosi Primary School on Thursday after the boy died at the clinic down the street from school at around 09:00 on that day.

Although some community members  immediately assumed that he had Covid-19 due to the many people being infected in our area, tests revealed that he did not have this disease.

According to his grandmother, Mrs Monica Malifu Thafeni, investigators phoned them yesterday afternoon and told them that he died after ingesting cabbage with poison.

“We do not know how this happened because he did not eat breakfast at home,” she says.
