Man found dead at dumping site

Potchefstroom – An unidentified man was found dead at the dumping site in Promosa on Monday (27 April) morning, around 08:50.

According to Sergeant (Sgt) Kelebogile Trom, police spokesperson, they received a complaint about a murder at the dumping site and rushed to the crime scene. “Upon their (Police officials) arrival, they found a community member who told them that he was on the way to the dumping site and saw a man lying face down,” stated Trom.

There was blood a few meters from the body, the police suspect that he was attacked.

The man sustained an open wound on the left-side of his head, near the ear and his face was covered in blood. He was taken to Potch Mortuary.

According to Sgt Trom, the man is seemed to be in his late 20’s and was wearing a black top, a pair of blue jeans and white sneakers.

If anyone who may have a missing family member who may fit the description above, the police urge you to go to the Ikageng Detectives with a photograph, and request for Warrant Officer (W/O) Van Niekerk.

Sgt Trom pleads with anyone who has information pertaining to the murder to contact W/O Van Niekerk at 068 013 9183.

“No arrests have been made, ” she stated.
